High thrust solution for big pipeline linear valves

Challenge

Operate 16˝ 2500 Globe, 20˝&24” 2500 Gate valves through an actuator with up to 1.615.767 N thrust and SIL 3 capability as a single device and onboard PST.

Solution

• Double acting pneumatic linear actuators with double chamber, PST and 4 to 8 1” booster with 2,000 l, 3,000 l and 10,000 l emergency tank to grant fail action
• Double cylinder grants thrust and size reduction 
• Dedicated Biffi made Booster configuration able to provide the stroking time (up to 8 boosters)
• Double stroking time regulation to avoid valve seats when the acts move the steam down (close action in this case). 
• Special lifting eyes for easy valve and actuator installation 
• The combination of these features granted all the customer requested needs. High performances, cost control, SIL level.
